Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

Within 3-5 years of graduation, the graduates with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering are expected to attain the following:

PEO1: Demonstrating adequate knowledge and skills in Mechanical Engineering for work in Industries, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), Research Centers and Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs);

PEO2: Having strong competence in Mechanical Engineering design and innovation to solve complex engineering problems at local and international levels;

PEO3: Being ethically sound and responsive to the societal and technical challenges;

PEO4: Having communication, technical, managerial, and entrepreneurial skills for solving cultural and socio-economic challenges; and

PEO5: Engaging in continuous professional development to adapt to the societal needs and compete excellently with their peers.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

The Programme Outcomes (POs) of the Washington Accord are adopted for the Kwara State University B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering programme. These POs are the measurable statements that describe knowledge or skills that students would achieve upon completion of their 4 or 5 years academic programme, depending on their entry mode.
